Kayleigh has been working in the dog training industry as a trainer for a number of years. She is insured and is also a fully certified member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (Membership No: 01533)

Kayleigh has always had a love for dogs and has been surrounded with them throughout her life. Her first taste of training came from her Nan who competed in competitions such as Crufts with her Norwegian Elk hounds. But Kayleigh's own training journey really began at age 16 when she volunteered at a local dog training school every weekend. At this time her family had just adopted a rescue dog who suffered with fear based reactivity. Witnessing how much he struggled really drove Kayleigh to pursue a career in enhancing the welfare and behaviour of animals through the use of positive reinforcement training.

Kayleigh went to University of Nottingham where she studied Animal Science BSc including behaviour modules and she then went on to do an MSc at University of Bristol. Throughout this time, her love of dogs was fulfilled by offering dog walking services. This further highlighted the need for better services to provide support to owners in the correct training procedures in order to positively impact behaviour and welfare.

Kayleigh has worked as Senior Coach for Dogs Trust Dog School where she taught group classes and 1-2-1s. At Dogs Trust she coached owners on doggy manners and obedience skills. She also carried out workshops and delivered behaviour based CPD to vet practices.

Kayleigh has also worked as a full time residential trainer for a private training company. Here she used all positive reinforcement techniques to train dogs on residential stays. She would provide a good basis for owners to progress with a variety of dog training issues. She would deliver a handover at the end of the dog's stay in order to coach the owners with the correct techniques, as well as producing a full write up of all the training.

As well as this, Kayleigh has worked for a big organisation training cats and carrying out behaviour modification programmes to help them adapt to their environment and build confidence. Through this organisation, Kayleigh adopted her own cat, Baloo, who is a mini dog and can even sit and give paw!

As well as her cat, Kayleigh also now has two rescue dogs. Ronnie is a 4 year old Doberman from RSPCA and Hunter is a 2 year old crossbreed who was found on a dump by Pawpers inthe Ruff in Macedonia. Both boys have their own quirks due to their poor start to life but have benefited tremendously from force free training.
